YAY!!! I've been tagged!!!

I am grateful once again to Polly who has tagged me.  This is a first for me and brand new territory!  Polly lives in Ireland and spends her time looking after her young children and making the most beautiful cards.  She was good enough to send me some a short time ago.

This tag requires that I list six things that you don't know about me so here goes:

I lived on a boat for three years with my husband and two (then) young sons, sailing around the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and up the East Coast of the USA.

For a mercifully brief time I was a piano teacher - and loathed it!

I have auburn hair which I hated at school but now love

I get really annoyed by odd socks.  I always hang them up to dry in pairs.  Odd socks stay downstairs in the laundry room until they have "found a friend".

I'm an Archers Addict although I would never admit it publicly!

I'm a demon at Racing Demon having learnt, as did all my family, at the age of four.  If you've never played you're never to old to learn!

OK, that's the easy part!  Now, The rules of this challenge are very simple; here they are:

1. Link the person(s) who tagged you - check
2. Mention the rules on your blog - ditto, check
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours - ditto
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged. - here goes!

Strawbale House - when I first suggested building a strawbale house as a garden hut the entire family thought I was daft.  This is a blog that shows that I wasn't as daft as all that!

Eleanor Blog - an old favourite

Victorian Times - a new one for me.  A lot of Civil War (well, she lives in Virginia) and lovely photos

Snapdragon's Garden - Inspirational blog about someone who decided there was more to life and retrained in horticulture.

Diary of a Tinyholder - although she may not thank me as she has so many awards already!  But take a look, it's fun

Sallygardens Smallholding - the whole of this blog is wonderful but I've tagged a particular post.  If you're allergic to laughter don't read it!

Well that's it boys and girls.  Thanks again Polly.  I've not been very active in the blogging world during the summer.  The garden has taken over our lives which is great as I haven't had to worry about feeding visitors.  But now the house is once again quiet, most of our visitors have gone home (a new lot arrive tonight) and I really ought to get back to life and work!

OH DEAR - It looks like typepad is playing me up again.  I've had to re-link my links so if they are not there bear with me.  I'll create merry havoc!

Hey Jean! You've got some nice tags there!

I think that this is one of the nicest things about meme's and the like; you get to know things about your friends and make some new ones in the bargain.

Fascinating reading regarding the strawbale house - that's always been one of my quirky pipe dreams!

Jean

I have now posted my list of 6 things about me. Have a look if you are interested.

All about Me

  • It seems to me that this has to be the most boring part of a blog...who wants to know anyway? On the offchance here's the basics: I've been married to the same person for 26 years and counting...and don't want to change. I have (we have) three handsome boys: 21/19/14 We have lived in a wonderful part of France for the past 14 years Before that we lived on a boat and sailed not around the world but around as much of it as we could for three and a half years. Before that we lived a fairly predictable life in London I started upholstery in 2002 and have been registered to work as an upholsterer since 2007. It's something I love. Since the demise of my husband's toy business we have both had more time on our hands which we have filled with animals: bees, chickens, geese, ducks and a couple of weaners Life is good but we are not living the good life!
