And I'm going mad, slowly but surely. I finished it and of course it's just a touch loose. I have a big head, did the medium size, swatched and all but still - it's too big. If it was too small I could give it to someone at Christmas but if it is too big for me it's too big for everyone.
How to sort it out? Easy in theory. Just undo the ribbing, pick up the stitches and re-work the ribbing downwards in a smaller needle. Easy...Huh
First off just undoing was tough as of course it doesn't unravel upwards in the same way as it does downwards (following me so far?). Secondly, it turns out that unravelling cables and other gems is not all that easy.
I now have the required number of stitches on the needles; I'm not sure they are all genuine stitches as, after the first count was 13 stitches short, I had to go round a second time and pick up stragglers - I think some of the stragglers weren't real.
Now I'm back to the ribbing and it will be finished this afternoon - I promise photos, mistakes and all, later today.
