I can certainly feel myself getting fitter. In some ways this is impossible because I've only been running for about 10 days and even then only about every third day.
However, I have also lost weight (yes, I know, the first few kilos are water but it's still encouraging) and perhaps the two combined are making me feel fitter.
Anyway, I've just got back from the river run. A lovely run down to the Sarthe and back and a fairly standard run for me. Last week I was running/walking and have gradually increased the running part. It's not far but for the first time, today I ran all the way there and all the way back (I stop and stretch - and enjoy the view! - for five minutes when I get there).
I still look with yearning at the water tower which we can see from our drive. This tower was my goal when I started running back in 1998 and was a regular run when I was marathon training. It's a ten mile (16kms) circuit so sadly I don't think it will be on my agenda any more. Shame because the view up there is wonderful.
Finally the really good news. I've just tried on "the dress" again and, yeah, it is no longer tight! I just need to keep up the good work for another two weeks.
Next post will be knitting. I've had an idea that I am developing and so far it is working. More when I've got a little further.
