For a long time I've been annoyed that I always look for a pattern and this time I decided to cast on and just go for it. These mittens are made from the top down so the fit is perfect. The thumb was added on at the end. They are not complicated to make and were finished very quickly. I will write up the pattern and put it on Ravelry in case anyone else wants to make an easy pair of mittens.
The alpaca/silk is incredibly soft and very warm. I was thrilled to see the frost this morning as it gave me a good excuse to wear them - pathetic, I know!
The second project with this yarn (the first actually in order of knitting) was this chunky hat. It comes from Vogue Knitting Holiday 2012 which was the first of my subscription present from my kind mother-in-law. I doubled up the yarn which made the chunky cables a bit harder but this also was a very quick knit.
It doesn't look quite so good on the Snatch tube as it does on the front cover model but there we are.
PS: I have almost certainly mentionned SNATCH before. It was given to us by my sister a few years ago and is brilliant. Very easy to play, any age and snatching is allowed. If you want a fun game for two or more players do consider this one.
