Blogging has taken second place this year. More like bottom of the pile really. I have been busy and most especially, since September, I have been working flat out.
I finally took the plunge and agreed to hold a sale of my woven items. We held it here and some friends (who sell things totally unrelated to weaving) also took part.
To my astonishment it was a success. My wonderful husband set everything up and I was kept busy all weekend and in addition had orders to fulfil before Christmas.
At around the same time I was asked by a lady in Belgium if I could make her a baby wrap. Handwoven baby wraps are very à la mode at the moment and no sooner had she received her wrap - and, crucially, posted a photo on Facebook - than I had more requests than I could handle. I have been weaving wraps every since.
On a non work level, I have been playing a lot of tennis and with reasonable success. I played the usual two local tournaments and was knocked out in the semi finals of each. But far more exciting was the Morannes Ladies Team who qualified for the Finals of the Department. And WON! Great prestige! When you consider that we are a team of three with no back up that is pretty impressive!
Finally, after all the weaving I have been doing recently I decided to make a cardigan for me. This is based on a pattern in Burda Tricot magazine but I changed it so that it could be made on the machine. This is the result.
A very Happy Christmas to you all.
