You don't have to enjoy rugby to enjoy this film...but it helps.
That said it was great. Clint Eastwood has produced a film that covers a major moment in South African history. Morgan Freeman plays Mandela beautifully with Matt Damon taking the role of Francois Pienaar, the South African rugby captain. There is history (I haven't checked but Clint is usually pretty good at getting the facts right), excitement and passion for the game.
If you are not a rugby fan don't be put off - the rugby in this film covers the highlights of the World Cup and keeps to the essentials. Be warned though, that the normal rough and tumble of rugby comes with enhanced sound effects and slow motion. Be prepared to wince.
